Catching a firebird by gonecanuck Catching a firebird by gonecanuck
I saw this and used it as a reference [link]

This is an illustration of the fairytale that I liked reading when I was little. It is called The Humpback Horse [link]
It is about a guy who has to get a firebird for the tsar. So his horse (who is way smarter than the guy) tells him to pour wine into a vat and put grain in it, and that would attrack the birds. So he catches one of the birds by the tail.

Gouache, gold acrylics on wood.

yeah an Indian summer doesn't look to promising does it? but hey ya never know... ;)

i forgot to ask you the other day if last Friday's snowstorm got into your area at all... i hope not, especially after seeing the mess it made of poor Buffalo with downed trees and power lines... :(
